Description des Maladies de la Peau, (Paris, 1806)
Author: ALIBERT, Jean Louis (1766–1837) Artist: N/A

Alibert’s “Description of Skin Diseases”, is the largest and most spectacular of the early classics of dermatology. The colour-printed engravings, some of which are finished by hand, are superb from both a medical and artistic point of view. They were painted by G. Moreau Valvile and executed in stipple engravings by Salvatore Tesca and Gianni.

Wunderkammer is a gallery of unique medical art from the Hagströmer Medico-Historical Library.
