This famous satirical work by the eighteenth century caricaturist John Collier, sometimes styled the 'Lancashire Hogarth', contains 26 hand-coloured engravings, four of which include depictions of tooth drawing to illustrate acute pain, laughter and experiment, fellow feeling, mirth and anguish. They were also sold as separate plates.
