One of the great treasures in the Royal Library in Stockholm is a famous medical manuscript, written around 1412, which is a compilation of the works by the famous surgeon of the Middle Ages, John of Arderne. The text is illustrated with more than one hundred multicoloured figures with various illnesses and methods used for their recovery. The Hagströmer Library holds an album in water-colours by an unknown artist, who has copied these original figures around 1900.

Wunderkammer is a gallery of unique medical art from the Hagströmer Medico-Historical Library.
